Minecraft Summon Command Generator
Make Minecraft /summon commands with custom names, NoAI, baby mobs, health, attributes, armour, potion effects and passengers for Java 1.20.5 to 26.x.
This generator builds a Java Edition /summon command for any mob or entity, with a custom name, behaviour flags, health, attributes, armour, potion effects, tags and a rider. Set the options and copy the command. It supports Java 1.21.5 and later (including 26.x) and the older 1.20.5–1.21.4 format.
How to use it
- Pick your game version. If you're on 1.20.5–1.21.1, also tick the box for the older attribute IDs.
- Search for an entity, such as "zombie", and click it. You can also type an entity ID and press Enter.
- Set the position.
~ ~ ~is where you stand.~ ~5 ~is five blocks up.^ ^ ^3is three blocks in front of where you're looking. - Add a custom name, choose whether it's always visible, and tick any flags.
- For mobs, set health, add attributes, fill equipment slots and add effects.
- Add tags or a passenger, then press Copy command.
Sections that don't apply to the chosen entity are hidden. TNT, for example, has no health or equipment.
The /summon format
/summon <entity> [<x y z>] [{nbt}]
The NBT part is a list of entity data fields. For example:
/summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {IsBaby:1b,PersistenceRequired:1b}
summons a baby zombie that never despawns.

Baby mobs
There are two ways to make a baby, and the tool picks the right one:
- Zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers, piglins, zombified piglins and zoglins use
IsBaby:1b. - Breedable animals and villagers use a negative
Age. The tool writesAge:-24000, and Never grows up addsAgeLocked:1b.
Health and max health
Health can't go above the mob's max health. To summon a zombie with 40 health, also add the Max health attribute at 40. The tool warns you if you forget.
Attributes
Attributes set a mob's base stats. Useful ones include max_health, movement_speed, attack_damage, armor, knockback_resistance, follow_range and scale. Scale goes from 0.0625 to 16 and makes a mob tiny or huge. Values outside an attribute's range are clamped by the game.
Attribute IDs changed in 1.21.2. Before that, most had a generic. prefix, such as minecraft:generic.max_health. Tick the 1.20.5–1.21.1 box and the tool adds the prefix.
Equipment and drops
In 1.21.5 and later, gear goes in one equipment field, for example equipment:{head:{id:"minecraft:diamond_helmet",count:1}}. The drops option sets drop_chances. Any value above 1 makes the item always drop undamaged, and 0 means it never drops. The older equipment format isn't offered here.
Effects
Effects use the active_effects list. The tool converts your level to the game's amplifier (level 2 = amplifier:1b) and seconds to ticks (20 per second). A duration of 0 seconds gives an infinite effect (duration:-1).
Frequently asked questions
How do you summon a baby zombie or baby animal?
Zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers, piglins, zombified piglins and zoglins use IsBaby:1b, as in /summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {IsBaby:1b}. Breedable animals and villagers use a negative age instead, such as Age:-24000. Add AgeLocked:1b to stop them from growing up.
Why does my summon command fail on Peaceful?
Since Java 1.21.9, summoning monsters fails when the difficulty is Peaceful. Switch to Easy or higher, then run the command again.
How do I make a mob stand still?
Tick No AI. The mob won't move, turn or fall. Add Invulnerable too if it shouldn't take damage.
How do I make a giant mob?
Add the Scale (size) attribute with a value up to 16. Scale was added in 1.20.5 and goes from 0.0625 to 16, so it can make a mob tiny or huge.
Can I summon a player?
No. Players and fishing bobbers can't be summoned.
Does the summon command generator work on Bedrock?
No. Bedrock's /summon doesn't accept NBT data, so these commands are Java Edition only.
